The appearance of the skin is directly related to its underlying supportive network. With age, sun exposure, disease, or injury, this collagen framework is weakened, resulting in fine lines and wrinkles. JUVÉDERM® and Restylane® are just a few of the dermal fillers we use at the Dallas Center for Dermatology and Aesthetics to correct these flaws by restoring volume and softening facial contours.

Each dermatologist in our Dallas office is recognized in the medical community for their skill when performing dermal filler injections. If you want natural beauty that looks effortless, contact us today and request a consultation online or call (214) 631-7546 to find out more. When you schedule a consultation for cosmetic procedures, you will also receive a customized “Total Skin Rejuvenation” plan to help you achieve your ideal look. Women and men visit us for dermal fillers from Frisco, Plano, and other cities near Dallas to look naturally attractive.

About Dermal Fillers

We offer a variety of safe, effective dermal fillers. Our experienced skin specialists will help you choose the filler or combination of fillers that will work with your unique skin characteristics, individual preferences, and aesthetic goals.

Restylane® Refyne, Defyne, and Kysse

Restylane dermal fillers contain hyaluronic acid, a natural substance that already exists in the human body to provide volume and fullness to the skin. These fillers provide instant softening of facial folds and wrinkles, and can be used to sculpt the lips. Learn more.

JUVÉDERM

JUVÉDERM is a smooth, hyaluronic acid-based injectable gel filler that fills lines and wrinkles from beneath the skin and enhances the lips. It’s especially effective on nasolabial folds, but it can be used throughout the face. Learn more.

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC

Like standard JUVÉDERM, JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC uses hyaluronic acid. But VOLUMA XC is specifically formulated with a thicker gel to add volume to the cheeks for a fuller, more youthful appearance. Learn more.

JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA® XC

With a lower concentration of hyaluronic acid than its other JUVÉDERM counterparts, JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA XC is often the best choice for patients who want to add natural-looking volume to the lips or smooth out the lines around the mouth. Learn more.

JUVÉDERM VOLLURE™ XC

The latest advancement from the JUVÉDERM line of fillers is VOLLURE, the first FDA-approved filler for moderate to severe wrinkles and folds, with results that can last up to 18 months. It’s an ideal choice for nasolabial folds and “smile lines” around the mouth. Learn more.

RADIESSE®

RADIESSE works with your body, below the skin’s surface. This filler contains tiny calcium-based microspheres that form a scaffold to support and stimulate the growth of your own collagen. Learn more.

Sculptra®

Sculptra Aesthetic, injectable poly-L-lactic acid, is a unique biostimulator that targets the underlying cause of the signs of facial aging: volume loss. Sculptra works within the deep dermis to stimulate the individual’s own natural collagen formation. As the collagen is replaced, it provides a foundation that gradually restores the fullness by correcting facial hollowing. Sculptra replaces collagen, restores volume, and refines lines. These natural-looking results can last up to 2 years. Learn more.

What Do Dermal Fillers Treat?

Many women use dermal fillers to enhance the lips and reduce wrinkles around the mouth, eyes, and forehead. Dermal fillers can also be combined with BOTOX® Cosmetic or Dysport® for more complete rejuvenation effects as part of a liquid facelift at the Dallas Center for Dermatology and Aesthetics.

Dermal Fillers FAQ

The versatility, convenience, and measurable results of injectable dermal fillers make them exceedingly popular for all sorts of patients. Today’s dermal fillers are just as safe and effective as ever, with millions of men and women around the world using them to reduce wrinkles and replace volume each year. Despite their popularity, prospective patients still have a lot of questions about these treatments. Here, find our answers to some of the ones we hear most often.

Aren’t all dermal fillers basically the same?

No. Although dermal fillers are all gels that are injected under the surface of the skin to add volume, many of them use different active ingredients and come in different formulations that make them more appropriate for different areas of the face. For example, JUVÉDERM and JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC both have the same active ingredient, hyaluronic acid, which helps skin stay hydrated and firm. But JUVÉDERM was developed specifically to alleviate the lines and wrinkles of the lower face, while JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC’s thicker, more durable formula makes it more appropriate for adding volume to the cheeks. Dr. Stetler, Dr. Polder, and our medical staff know how to strategically administer the right fillers to the right areas to yield exceptional results.

What is the difference between BOTOX Cosmetic and dermal fillers?

Although dermal fillers and BOTOX Cosmetic are both injectable treatments that are used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, they work in very different ways. As their name implies, injectable fillers use an ingredient to physically fill in wrinkles from below the skin’s surface, effectively reducing their appearance. BOTOX and Dysport both use a purified form of the botulinum toxin to temporarily relax the muscles that cause “dynamic” wrinkles (the wrinkles that occur when we make facial expressions), such as crow’s feet, to form. When used strategically, BOTOX and dermal fillers can both create beautiful outcomes.

Who is a good candidate for a dermal filler treatment?

These products work well and are safe for nearly anyone who is interested in erasing wrinkles around the face or adding volume to the lips, cheeks, or under-eye hollows. Most of the fillers we use are made from ingredients that are found naturally in the body. For people who have allergies or sensitivities to any of the ingredients in fillers, we may take extra precautions. During your initial consultation, your practitioner will review your medical history and help you determine whether dermal fillers are right for you.

What happens to the dermal filler ingredients as they wear off?

Dermal fillers are not meant to last forever. Depending on the type of filler used, as well as its placement, the results of a treatment can last between several months and 2 years. The ingredients in dermal fillers gradually break down and filter out of the body through normal metabolic processes.

Sculptra Aesthetic, a dermal filler that uses poly-L lactic acid, comes with the added benefit of promoting collagen growth within the skin. Over time, the poly-L lactic acid is flushed out of the body while the new, natural collagen stays behind.

Can I combine a dermal filler treatment with another procedure?

Yes! At the Dallas Center for Dermatology and Aesthetics, we often recommend a combinational approach to help patients resolve several aesthetic concerns at once. It’s perfectly safe to “mix and match” dermal fillers or have them administered in conjunction with BOTOX or Dysport in a procedure called a “liquid facelift”. Dermal fillers can also help enhance the results of other treatments, such as Thermage®. Our professionals look forward to helping you find the right options to reveal your most beautiful skin.

How can I make my results last as long as possible?

Although dermal fillers are temporary, they can provide many months of noticeable improvement. The longevity of a dermal filler treatment is highly dependent on the type of filler administered, as well as your own unique anatomy. The best thing you can do to preserve your results is to follow your practitioner’s instructions closely. Although there is no significant downtime required after a procedure, you may need to refrain from touching the injection site or temporarily avoid certain substances, such as alcohol. Prior to your procedure, we’ll help you understand what to expect from your results, as well as how to maintain them for as long as possible.

If you have more questions or are ready to get started, visit the Dallas Center for Dermatology and Aesthetics. You can request a consultation online or call (214) 631-7546.
