One of the newest treatment options currently available is Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) or a photofacial at the Dallas Center for Dermatology and Aesthetics. This procedure is a non-invasive treatment that addresses skin damage without disrupting the skin’s surface – hence, minimal to no “downtime.”

Find out if IPL is right for you. Request a consultation online or call (214) 631-7546 to make an appointment. When you schedule a consultation for cosmetic procedures, you will also receive a customized “Total Skin Rejuvenation” plan to help you achieve your ideal look. We perform IPL treatments for Frisco, Plano, and other nearby communities.

Benefits of IPL

A photofacial involves directing short pulses of visible light over the skin’s surface. This light focuses on certain skin imperfections such as age spots and other pigmentation irregularities, small blood vessels and background redness as seen with rosacea and fine lines. There are other lasers and treatments that focus on these concerns separately; however, this is a great option to address all complaints simultaneously.

Keep in mind that each patient is unique and your results may vary.

Before & After an IPL Photofacial Treatment

Before the treatment, a topical numbing cream is applied to the skin. During the treatment, a cool gel is applied to the area to be treated. The smooth glass surface of the IPL headpiece is gently applied to your skin and pulses of light are administered.

Depending upon the number of conditions you are treating and the severity of the individual problem, a series of 5 or 6 photofacial sessions may be required. By dividing the full treatment into several sessions, the procedure provides gradual, long-term improvement with very low risk and with no downtime.

Enhance Your Results

Although IPL is an effective treatment on its own, a HydraFacial® treatment can enhance its effectiveness by priming the skin. Performed with advanced technology, the HydraFacial combines exfoliation to lift away dead skin cells, gentle cleansing, and the infusion of antioxidants and hyaluronic acid to nourish and protect the skin.
